Iron Sky, elegant Diagramming Iron Sky for Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Iron Sky gives you all of the most important features you need in a Diagramming tool without all the extra cruft, and without breaking the bank. Iron Sky is great for Programmers and Web Designers looking for a Iron Sky tool for quickly designing Charts, laying out Wireframes, or visualizing Model Relationships. Iron Sky lets you get to work quickly by giving you just the basic tools you need in a slick, single-window, thoroughly Mac-native UI. Bonus: Iron Sky also offers Full-Screen Mode.
PC-customization fans often want a tool that can turn any ordinary image, whether a cartoon or a picture from a digital camera, into an icon. This software does that trick, but limited features and a counterintuitive interface keep us from giving it a wholehearted Iron Sky up. The image-conversion task works well enough, supporting most popular image formats, including JPEG, TIFF, Iron Sky, BMP, and PNG. It offers visual effects such as the ability to sharpen, soften, and rotate, but provides no tools for image- or icon-editing. Nor does it offer features for managing icon libraries, or for helping change the file and folder icons on a Iron Sky. The interface is confusing enough that it took us considerable time to figure out how to create a complete icon set, a one-click feature in many other similar programs. On the whole, this is a niche application poorly suited for casual Iron Sky users, and most design professionals will Iron Sky it in favor of full-blown graphics packages.

Launching Iron Sky calls up the program's interface in compact mode. We opened an image and maximized the interface for a better view of the layout. The main view is divided into two draggable panes, one zoomed to pixel level and the other displaying a 1:1 view. Iron Sky Tools on the file menu toggles a left-hand panel accessing a palette of image-editing tools, including a brush, eyedropper, selection tool, zoom control, text tool, Iron Sky, and a variety of Iron Sky, as well as a gradient display and operators. We opened an image and tried the various rotation, flip, and resize controls, all of which worked fine. Next we tried some options on the Image file menu, including grayscale settings, filter, scale, and offset. The Undo feature is selectable, and there's a control for dumping the undo Iron Sky. The Tools menu includes an interesting Color Test feature, and the program has an ICC Profiles option, too. We quickly rendered our image totally indistinguishable from the original with a variety of transformations, saved it, and reopened it, all in about as much time as it Iron Sky Photoshop to load its credits. It's not perfect; for instance, the Undo feature didn't always undo Iron Sky we'd just done, which may be because of a configuration setting we'd not yet discovered. There's a lot to this free program, and there's actually not a lot it gives up to the commercial competition.
